The Magic of Open Source in Government and Public Sector
When used in the public sector, open source can help governments reach further than their immediate communication and digital sovereignty goals. To discuss past and current government projects — and to envision future possibilities — TYPO3 Project Ambassador Mathias Bolt Lesniak has invited two people instrumental in TYPO3 projects in the Global South.
Mohamed Shafi Yusuf is the Director of E-government at the Government of Somalia's Ministry of Communications and Technology. He is a key participant in the ongoing knowledge-transfer project introducing TYPO3-based government website to Somalia.
Thomas Wiemann is Government Digitization Program Manager in Rwanda for GIZ, the German International Cooperation Society, and a participant in the country's TYPO3-based website standardization journey and GovStack implementation.
